I like to surround myself with people that affect me in positive ways; people that are engaging, fun, friendly. Here are a few of the people I draw inspiration from. I like to think that some of that mojo goodness can’t help but rub off on me. Gimme some of that mojo!
My husband Steve – He is my biggest supporter. He is my rock. I would not be able to pursue my passions without his support. Steve inspires self-confidence in me.
My daughter Krystal – Having a promising future ahead of her, she reminds me that it is never too late to pursue your dreams and never too old to have them. Krystal inspires the adventurous spirit in me.
Mushu (our cat) – She reminds me to never give up. She is more feisty, tenacious and persistent than most people I know. For this she inspires determination. She also reminds me to take breaks (to play) and lets me know when it is time for me to shut the pc down and go to bed (at 3 a.m.). For this, Mushu inspires relaxation, or down-time.
Andy – Andy’s ability to make any story sound interesting, even if it is not, is enviable. Andy is also another people person and has a very outgoing and friendly demeanor that makes him instantly likable. I challenge anyone to find otherwise. Andy reminds me to stop thinking it, and start doing it. Andy inspires innovation.
Emily and Chris – Two very good friends that also happen to be the most spontaneous people I know. Never afraid of being who they are, they inspire the free spiritedness and uniqueness in me. Emily and Chris inspire individuality.
Kelly – Kelly is my Zumba instructor. Killer smile (always smiling), has loads of enthusiasm with the energy to match—I think she should be in show biz. When I start to feel drained, all I have to do is go to Zumba class for a boost in energy. Kelly inspires just that—energy!
Maria – What can I say about Maria? Maria makes me laugh. If I had a sound bite of her laugh you would find it here. She is another fun, friendly and outgoing person. Maria reminds me to not take myself so seriously and her laugh, well, it’s infectious! Maria inspires humor.
Nancy – Proactive, positive and business savvy. Nancy is an excellent communicator and a people person. A former director in a previous position, she was (is) a wonderful mentor and coach. Nancy pushed me beyond my comfort level, which for many techy people, is hiding in a nice quite back corner somewhere. Nancy inspires me to always reach for that next level. Nancy inspires assertiveness.
Phoenix – Phoenix is my favorite geek friend. We speak the same techy language so I really love that I have someone I can talk to about all things webby. Phoenix has an easy going nature and a refreshingly positive attitude. She takes everything in stride and she is very well liked for her outgoing and friendly personality. She reminds me that there is a positive side to just about everything and to not sweat the small stuff. Phoenix inspires tolerance.
Myself – I am a perfectionist. I have been a student of the web world since the mid-90’s and I will continue to be a student; this will never change. I will forever be honing my skills and utilizing only what I feel are the best practices of the moment. I probably demand too much from myself, but yet, I believe that I inspire excellence in myself.
