Here is an example of an earlier (2007) project. This website changes every year due to the ever-changing list of guest artists and studios that participate on the Tour each year.
My challenge at the time was to create a system that would be easy to update and would provide a way to activate and deactivate artists or studios as needed, and of course to add images.
I’ve implemented an image gallery system and an email sign-up form (and a contact form) that automatically add new people to the mailing list utilizing MailChimp. I’ve also included a Google map showing the locations (and directions) to each studio on the tour for the year.
Since 2007, I have made several improvements to this website including a change to the WordPress Theme. In 2011, a couple of social sharing items were added including the Facebook Like button, the Google +1 button and an Eventbrite widget. Each of these features has the potential to draw in more traffic as they are utilized from this site or elsewhere.
I also created accounts for Google Analytics and Woopra and administer these, as well as the accounts for MailChimp, the web Host and the Registrar.
